*UPDATE* I have uploaded a newer fixed rubric for the PERSIA project. You can pick any of the countries on the list. You can even have a partner. Google Slides will work well for this! You will do all research online. For the case of doing a map or a brochure, you can send a picture to my email when you are ready to turn it in. Please email me with any questions.

Hi everyone! I hope that you're all doing well at home, and are safe and healthy! We will just start our "home schooling" effort by getting that Columbian Exchange essay completed, and shared with me on Google Docs. I'll be keeping grades here at home, and checking in with you all on your progress. In the meantime, our final project for our Latin America Unit is the block above that says "PERSIA Rubric." You can take a look at that, and decide which country you'd like to pick. You're not limited to the ones on the list--you can pick any Latin American country.
If you'd like to work with a partner on this, that would be fine. Make sure it's someone who you work well with, and they can be any student in any of my classes. :) Your final product can either be a paper, (Google Doc) or a presentation (Google Slides). Let's just stick to groups of TWO for now. No large groups--that will be difficult since we're all at home.
For 4th quarter, we'll switch our focus to North America. We'll look at our indigenous cultures, and pay particular attention to Canada. We'll also have a field trip to Chimney Rock National Monument----MAYBE. That was scheduled for May 5, 6, and 7. Of course, right now, there are several virtual field trips you can take online, to look at our nations' National Parks.
For any questions or clarifications, e-mail is the best way to reach me. I'm checking it all the time. Thank you all for your patience as we all try to navigate our new normal. Hang in there!
I miss seeing your smiling faces, and hope to get back in the classroom soon.
Best,
~Mrs. M
